Southwest Austin Overview
With only a 5 to 15 minute commute to downtown Austin, Zilker Park, and Barton Springs Pool, Southwest Austin is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. There are many things to do and see in this area, such as the Lady Bird Wildflower Center and the Veloway ( a great place to hike, bike , and rollerblade).
Lifetime Fitness offers swimming, basketball, rock climbing, water slides, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, yoga, pilates, and much more. There are many great restaurants, coffee shops, and quick access to all your shopping needs, including a Costco.
Children in Southwest Austin go to Bowie and Austin High Schools. Both have excellent reputations as exemplary schools.
AMD – Advanced Micro Devices recently built a large campus on Southwest Parkway. This location is convenient to many of the large employers in Austin. This has meant rapid appreciation of Southwest Austin home prices.
