Most of the homes in Brykerwoods were built between 1930 and 1950. During this time the average home size was 1,400 to 1,800 square feet. There are some larger homes here ranging from 1,900 to 2,500 square feet, but they are not inexpensive.
Recreation in Brykerwoods
Brykerwoods has several parks including Shoal Creek Park, Bailey Park, and Seider's Springs Park. If you enjoy golf, there are two courses nearby: Lions Municipal Golf Course and Hancock Golf Course.
There are many restaurants and shopping centers nearby including Waterloo Ice House, Santa Rita Mexican Cantina, 34th Street Café, and Kerbey Lane Café. The best grocery store to shop at in Austin is Central Market, and there is one located on Lamar at 40th Street. There is also a Randalls nearby, so you have many choices.
There are many gyms, pilates, and yoga studios nearby including Ironsmith, Hyde Park Gym, Curves, and Reform Pilates. You can also jog, bike , or walk at the Shoal Creek Greenbelt.
Brykerwoods Schools
The main elementary schools are Brykerwoods and Casis. The middle school is O Henry and the high school is Austin High.
